Getting to celebrate your loved ones

I don't most people give this much thought. Really taking the time to let the people around you know that you are proud of them and happy to celebrate them. whether it is just making it through a hard time, and accomplishment, or even a birthday. Showing up for them to say you are important to me.

I have probably missed one of each of my niece's birthdays. They are teenagers now. I always call my siblings to sing them happy birthday. This year feels important to make it to them to celebrate their day. I will be out of town for mine. I usually travel for my birthday I think the year before last was the first year I didn't. I like to be somewhere different to celebrate making into another year. New experiences marking everything that is to come.

I look forward to the day I can give my husband the birthday party he always wanted. God willing it will be for his 40th which is a lot closer than he would like to admit. Two years away to be exact lol. I don't think 40 is old at all I am only three years behind him and don't feel a day over 20. Definitely a lot wiser but am in the best shape I have ever been. That also comes with wisdom knowing what you should and shouldn't consume. I do get a kick out of how much it bothers him. He still hasn't received the gift of age. He is starting to be called Unc by younger men and it is driving him crazy.

Back to my point. celebrate the ones you love. Give them their flowers when they can smell them and admire how beautiful they are. When they can feel what they truly meant to you. Love of them, laugh with them, and shed a few tears telling them how special they are to you. Let them know you are proud of them. Let them experience all that you want to share with them. It is so important to give and receive that kind of celebration.
